Extra Z: 2007 Nissan Nismo 350Z
As we’ve seen in The Great Car Faceoff, the Nissan 350Z has some serious fans. Those fans are being addressed with the new Nismo 350Z, a race-inspired version of the sports coupe. Nismo is the brand of high-performance parts for Nissan vehicles.
Added to this 350Z are aerodynamic kits for the front, side and rear of the car, along with a rear wing. On the performance side, there are larger Brembo brakes, a tuned exhaust and lightweight wheels. There are also some interior touches special to the Nismo addition. Engine power remains the same as the base 2007 350Z, 306 hp.
The Nismo goes on sale in July.

Kinda surprised that...well, not really...the Nismo version doesn't use the VQ37HR engine. Then again, this version came out at the same time as the V36 (2007 G35 Sedan). I love this. It means that people only need to spend $$$ on the engine mod. Think of the vast amount of $$$ saved on ext mod, now going into the engine...
This car is simply amazing, I am a little disappointed to see the engine power remain the same, especially since Nismo manufactures a quite the line of performance upgrades, I guess they weren't included here. But as Amuro Ray says, this does leave room for more money spending on performance.
im sorry this is garbage pure and simple you slap some stuff on the side of my beloved car and you thnk its better than the stock one? oh please spare me this is just a shamless attempt to get more cash out of people my god the kit does not even look that good. there are much better looking ones out there
Hi Racer X,
Sorry to be blunt here, but to answer your question "you thnk its better than the stock one?"
Yes, the Nismo Z is better than the stock one.
(Based on comment's from Japan's Best Motoring Video; sorry, I haven't driven one to verify it, and probably never have will have the chance to do so*)
I've driven the regular 350Z, and I do own a 300ZX TT. I can tell the difference (pros/cons) between the 2. But back to the subject here, there is 1 thing you'll need to remember. the Nismo Z is designed SOLELY for TRACK USE (though no body is gonna stop you from driving it on the street, but you should get a regular Z if that's the case). May be Dave T. or someone else from cars.com can tell u more on their "test track" test drive last week. But if u r just driving it on the street, or using it as a drag race, NO, then you won't be able to tell the difference. The aero kit is for better dynamic air current flow and the suspension has been tuned for high speed cornering. Both of these will provide much more excellent traction/performance/handling if you are driving the Nismo Z in a race track (not the Nascar ones, but like the SECA in S. California). The regular Z has a lot of understeer/oversteer (sorry, my memory's on this is bad, but it's either one in the Best Motoring test drive on race track) during high speed concerning. In fact, if you think 'bou it, it's always much easier to upgrade the engine (put a turbo/supercharger in, change the computer chip, replace the intake, etc.) then to upgrade the aero body part to give you better stability/control during high speed operation of the vehicle. I mean, you can test your engine power in a dyno - which is very easy to find in tuner shops - easily, but where can you get a wind tunnel to test the air flow of the vehicle?
*I don't think I'll ever have the possibility of test driving one in a race track :(
