Great Car Faceoff: The Final 16

Gcf350z

The Nissan fans came out in force last night to catapult the 350Z into the Final 16 of the Great Car Faceoff. That was the lone surprise in the final bracket, with the BMW 335, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Porsche Cayman all easily winning their contests. You can see the full results here.

That means today we move right into the next round, where we’ll see if the 350Z can keep its streak going against the Porsche Cayman, as well as whether the Mini Cooper will be able to easily handle the Mazda6.

Is it just me, or does it seem like interest in this thing is dropping like a rock?

The 'domestic' fans took all the fun out of it. At least the last round was stocked with good cars.

we thought the best would make it the farthest and for the most part I think there were only 2 or 3 actual upsets.

Hey David, check out the 350Z fans encouraging their members to cheat and vote multiple times in the poll. Sounds like the 350Z should be disqualified to me!

KenDude,
I can't explain how, but trust me they can't vote multiple times. So they're wasting their time. There is about a 500 vote difference between 350Z votes and the others. If their cheating was working it would be about 10X that.
I think they just have a couple hundred guys that are actually those few hundred extra votes. More live bodies aren't really cheating.

the 350z fans have their G35 brethren voting for them too...

Hey Kendude,

It looks like Cayman guys are doing the same thing as well. Do you think they should be disqualified too?

Guys,
none of the "trickery" works. There weren't that many more additional votes compared to the other contests, about as many as we'd expect from two clubs of car fans.
