New York Auto Show: 2008 Ford F-150 Foose Edition

Foose500

Truck buyers may not be familiar with Chip Foose. He's a custom hot rod builder who has created an empire out of his 1950s-influenced designs. Most recently he's been churning out customized Ford Mustangs. His work was good enough to catch the attention of the Blue Oval, and the company recruited Foose to develop in-house custom vehicles.

Foose's first official Ford project is the 2008 Ford F-150 Foose Edition. This truck isn't just for show; it packs a 450-hp supercharged V-8 engine. The plan now is for just 500 of these to be sent to dealerships this fall. There are a number of exterior changes, most noticeably custom Foose wheels and a lower stance. The hood, headlights and grille also get the custom treatment.

No price has been announced, but we'd guess it will be much more than the last go-fast F-150, the SVT Lightning, which had a sticker of $32,515 in 2003. More photos below.

lower it, put some rims on there, and have someone stripe it...geez thats complicated!

FOOSE always does it right.. this truck is HOT!!

The silver trapezoid vents on the bumper look right off a Silverado SS. This just ain't that special. I'd take a Silverado SS or a Ram SRT-10 over this truck. I don't need a crew cab!

matt

Now if Toyota comes out with something like for the tundra this then I might like it. But you know its Toyota :(

Chevy Man

PLEASE...you folks have no idea how HOT this Truck will be! Chip Foose is a FREAKIN legend! He does not half Arse ANYTHING! You can guarantee there could never be a product from Toyoater remotely close to the refinement and Kick Arse Attention Grabbing-ness as this machine! The only thing that makes me angry is that Mr. Foose dosen't care for my Chevy's...

J

Fool's edition?

Get a used Lightning for less, spend the rest to upgrade, get a better truck after all.

matt

Hay Chevy Man this truck is HOT, I was just saying that Toyota cant do ANETHING cool.

Jake Geer

Good move by ford for hiring Foose. this truck is a real beauty. 450 horses, 4 doors, and only 500 made for just $32,515! Thank you FoMoCo.

Chip Foose is overrated, this truck isnt anything special. SVT could've just as easily done this for less money then wat Ford probably paid Foose to do.

Troy

The truck actually looks good. Gives the customer a sense of owning a customized truck and shows others what they can do to theirs. In essence, adding another spice to the rack of F-150s.

Now now, let's not beat on Toyota. Truth be known they make excellent vehicles. If they're not "your" brand, don't jump on the brand bashing band wagon. It's old and gets us absolutly nowhere.

You people crack me up hopefully you don't call yourself car enthsiasts. This truck is awesome and at a persfect price. Skip chevy trucks(aka copy a gmc), and toyota trucks are just wannabees that look quite frankly ugly. You people have no clue about foose and definitley his unique designs, i think foose (a great car guy) with ford (a great car company) are a perfect team. So keep your stupid opinions to yourself and learn who the better car company is.

there is no announced price for this truck. I was quoting the starting price of the last SVT truck from 2003 and said right before that "we'd guess it will be MUCH MORE than the last go-fast F-150, the SVT Lightning, which had a sticker of $32,515 in 2003."

J

Okay, get a used Lightning, soup it up, voids the warranty(If any is left).
Get a new one, soup it up with the Fool's Edition, voids the warranty.

Hm...Seems like costing less to get a used one and possibly have a better vehicle after all.

Even though this is a pretty nice truck & has a crew cab, I'd rather have a Lightning or even one of the Saleen S331 trucks over it.

nelson andasol

i need more information abuth this ford foos edition

jay

u people r funny its just a scam to make money there gunna pay 25 large to build it and charge u 55 sticker ford is great for that and all foose did was tell the little goofy guy with glasses what to put on the truck looking at computer

omar

that car its cool is my favorite car better then dodge and chevrolet

Christian

Chris, keep your opinions to yourself, because I'm almost sure that Chevrolet did not copy GMC. GMC and Chevy are both part of General Motors Company, which explains why they both look alike. Yes, this truck is nice, but i would much rather prefer a Silverado, if only Chevy put the shift in the middle of the truck, just like the Ford F150.

wolfy

the f150 roush nitemare is a fast f 150 this cars for show only;(
