Driving Costs Remain Unchanged

AAA released a study today stating that the cost to drive a car remains basically unchanged from a year ago. It costs an average of 52.2 cents to drive one mile in a new vehicle, the group says. AAA included the cost of fuel, maintenance, tires, insurance, license, registration, taxes, depreciation and finance charges to come up with the figures.

Fuel costs, despite spiking recently, are still down half a cent from last year. The cost of insurance and financing has risen.

The average cost to drive a car 15,000 miles is $7,823.
