Chrysler Sebring Convertible Pricing is Here

The 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible is one of those cars we’re not sure about. We were never impressed with the last model, but it’s a strong seller. The new version, with an array of retractable-top choices and engine sizes, could prove to be another sleeper success story. Perhaps its price will prove the ultimate deciding factor.

The base Sebring with a vinyl convertible top, four-cylinder engine, ABS and tire pressure monitoring system will start at $25,470. That‘s actually less than the outgoing Sebring convertible’s $26,115 asking price.

The Sebring Touring, also with a standard vinyl top, adds a standard V-6 engine and 17-inch wheels and starts at $28,070. The Sebring Limited with a standard cloth top, 18-inch wheels, premium sound system and various dress-up features starts at $31,670. Prices don’t include a $675 destination charge.

There’s an optional 3.5-liter V-6 engine and retractable hardtops that will add significant amounts to the price of the car, but we haven’t received those exact figures yet. Until then, let us know if you think the entry price will help boost the Sebring when it goes on sale later this spring.

Boring looking car. Chrysler should come out with a Sebring aimed at other people besides retirees. It's hokey looking and does not have a wow factor. I would rather have a 5 year old 3-series convertible than a new Sebring.

I actually like the Convertible better than the sedan. I think the G6 may be a better value if you factor in a hardtop, but the Sebring has more of an upscale feel than the Pontiac.

I think the lower price and different configurations will help in sells. Especially with the added content.

Avis & Hertz will always need a convertible & this looks like a rental winner!!

At least the old one was attractive (aside from the latest front end). The new car has much stouter proportions, and who wants a pudgy convertible?

The Sebring Convertible only further confirms that I made the right decision to buy a Volkswagen Eos.

I've heard from very few EOs owners. How is it?
I think the bigger story is the EOS is a standard hardtop where it will cost more here. You can get a decent Eos with the 2.0T (which is one of my favorite engines anyway) and some actual features for under $35K. It's not my "style" but it certainly isn't unattractive like the G6 and Sebring verts.

I think it's the perfect car for pudgy, pasty midwesterners to drive when they visit Disney's Magic Empire.

I'm surprised the Sebring name has survived this long.The name first appeared on B-body midsized Plymouth coupes for 1973 (Satellite Sebring) and was gone after 1974 (mid sizers were called Fury after that),until Chrysler brought it back in sedan and convertible form a few years back....
At least the 73/74 Sebring had some pretense for "sportiness" in its design (it was sister car for the Dodge Charger)execution,the 21st century "Sebring" is nothing of the kind,and its obvious the buying public cannot remember the 1970s....
However,I must say that Sebring sounds better than "Cirrus"....(and its weak sister Breeze).

For the same money I'd take a Mustang ragtop ANY day. Definite style and character, not bland anonymity. And RWD, too!

I am interested in a new or practically new 2006 or 2007 Sebring convertible.

Unfortunately being "Chryslerish" will probably be its downfall. Chrysler's styling is love it/hate it, and also tends to be VERY trendy. This car is no different. Personally, I find it to be bland and cheap looking.

Looks like they welded the Ram's front end onto an old Sebring convertable. They didn't invest a whole lot into the design team did they?

I drove the 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible last weekend--a rental from Avis and I had heads turning all weekend. Good solid drive, handled well; great sound system, and plenty of wow factor.

Intercommunity Action, Inc., a non profit organization in Philadelphia, are holding their annual car raffle. The grand prize is a JEEP PATRIOT or a CHRYSLER SEBRING!
