Can We Borrow $109,000? Audi R8 Gets a Price Tag

Audir8310

We fell in love with the 2008 Audi R8 the first time we sat in it at the L.A. auto show. It’s a dangerous-looking sports car with a mid-engine layout, all-wheel drive, aluminum body and carbon fiber everywhere. The R8 is just cool. It also starts at $109,000.

Models equipped with a six-speed R tronic automatic transmission will have to part with another $9,000, bringing the total cost to $118,000. The 420-hp, V-8-powered car hits 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds, and that makes us think the $109,000 is almost worth it.

The R8 comes stateside this fall and will take on the Porsche 911 Turbo — $122,900 — as the ultimate German sports car.

Absolutely not worth it, my 350Z goes to 60 in about 0.8 seconds more.....you could buy 5 350z's with that kind of money!

People who can afford these cars buy 350Zs for their daughter's friends.

Where are these people, and more importantly where are their daughters? I can be very suave if I have to be! :)

Good looking car..I think this was awarded as the 2008 Automobile of the Year by Automobile Magazine.
