Forbes.com released a virtual slideshow that shows the 2006 cars and trucks with the most recalls per vehicle. That means how many recall notices were sent out for mechanical problems on each one, not how many total vehicles were recalled.

You can check out Forbes’ full story here, with a detailed list of each recall, or keep reading below for the abbreviated list.

  • Dodge Ram: 7 recalls
  • Dodge Durango: 6 recalls
  • Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra: 4 recalls
  • Honda Civic: 4 recalls
  • Hyundai Sonata: 4 recalls
  • Jeep Liberty: 4 recalls
  • Land Rover LR3: 4 recalls
  • Land Rover Range Rover: 4 recalls

* All 2006 models

That's great, but it doesn't say what the recall was. I remember a recall Jaguar did where they placed a warning label on the washer fluid tank saying not to ingest the contents. That's a big difference from the failing steering linkage on Toyota's 4Runner.

Additionally, I'd like to see the number of vehicles recalled per brand. Toyota's sludge problem effected millions of vehicles. While GM's Minivan seatbelt problem was far less widespread.

Drew,
If you go to the Forbes link they go into detail on each specific recall. We didn't want to copy their entire story. They did the legwork they should get the link.

Looks like Drew doesn't like Toyota. Anyway, thank you for the link!

Once again the "Americans" lead the way. I'll take a Honda or Toyota with a half-dozen recalls over any GM-Ford-Chrysler vehicle ANY DAY of the week. The numbers don't lie, Toyota and Honda have NO problem selling every single vehicle they make. Soon Toyota will be your GM. Get used to it.
