First Steps at the Detroit Auto Show
There was plenty to see this morning at the 2007 Detroit auto show. Besides the new Mini Cooper, I saw Mazda’s Ryuga concept in the flesh (above) and it did in fact look a little more complete than the Nagare concept in L.A. Maybe these PR people aren’t just making stuff up.
That's the new logo-less Scion tC Series 3.0 in front of the company's new, tiered display of aftermarket modified Scions. We get it; people like to customize Scions.
Do you think the Tundra is a big deal for Toyota? Its entire display at the show is nothing but Tundras. We couldn't find a Corolla, RAV4, Yaris, nada. Nothing but Tundras.
Toyota really did fashion the Tundra after American trucks. Unfortunately, it took a page out of the cheap plastic interior playbook of past-generation American trucks. The door panel moved when I went to close it. Not a good sign.
Ford still builds a big truck. This F-350 could crush a cameraman.
A few media folk kick back in Suzuki's faux movie theater set-up — complete with popcorn — to check out the Flix concept's big screen.
No one seemed to care that Subaru was displaying the slightly revised — the grille now has wings — Outback and Legacy. This sure takes the surprise out of today's 4:50 p.m. press conference.

Take a closer look at the legacy / outback. The changes are more then a grille. The entire front and rear fascias have changed, new bumper, new tail lights etc.
