First Lexus LS 600h L Hybrids Go To Neiman Marcus Customers
In a very strange cross-branding move, the first 100 Lexus LS 600h L hybrid sedans to hit the market will go to members of Neiman Marcus’ InCircle members. This program is like other frequent-buyer clubs, but rarely do you see a brick and mortar retailer — especially of the department store variety — selling cars.
The 100 LS 600h L hybrids will be called Launch Editions with a unique exterior color called Truffle Mica, 19-inch chrome wheels and matching luggage. We don’t really see the value of the program as the vehicle is widely believed to be a hot commodity through most shoppers’ normal route, the car dealer.

Not sure why Cars.com would be so clueless as to act as if this is 'rarely' done. NM does it every year and it just so happens it's being done with a new model Lexus. I get the feeling that this article was written just to fill space.
they do it every year with the first 100 models ever produced of a brand new model? I haven't heard of it. Usually they do something with an existing model and make it a special edition. Not something that hasn't been sold before and is hotly anticipated.
