2007 Detroit Auto Show: Chrysler Nassau Concept
Chrysler’s concept for Detroit is a look at what can be done post-300C. The 300 sedan was such a hit for the company it will be hard to follow it up with almost anything. In the Nassau, Chrysler offers a surprising take on the family sedan — it isn’t a sedan at all; it’s a four-door hatchback.
Because of its rounded rear, the Nassau doesn’t appear nearly as large as the 300C, though it is. The front and rear are exaggerated, and there are certainly some flaws inherent in the design, but we still see a lot of potential here.
The slab-faced 300C, while a success, is visually stunting. This more arrow-headed — and ended — look could easily be its successor because the design cues still mirror the current Chrysler lineup. It might not be a home run, but the Nassau certainly makes us curious about the future of Chrysler’s large sedan.

Ok - that's pretty sweet looking.. I hate these concept cars, they give me hope that we could some day buy something like this, but then someone (bean counters?) dumb down the design and style and technology.

I've never been a huge fan of Chrysler but, the Nassau could change my mind.

From the front 1/4 view, the rear of it kind of looks like a Renault Megane. Interesting how the "European" part looks like the best part of the car. Not nearly as bad as a lot of the other American concepts (i.e. Ford Interceptor/brick), the front and rear ends could use some work. The side isn't bad. However the rear pillar is so fat that backing up and checking blind spots could be a btch. Did an American automotive company finally hire a trained and (at least partially) competent designer? Hope so, for the sake of these companies, not that I really care to much.

Thus continues the string of poorly designed, oddly shaped Chryslers. They continue to use both sytling and technological gimmicks in place of real design. At least it doesn't have those ridiculous hood strakes.
