Reader Review of the Week

Consreviews_2_1

It seems Cars.com readers are really getting into writing their own reviews. Each new review we read — of the hundreds that come in each month — offers a unique perspective on a car that you can’t get from just one expert review. For example, this week’s winning review was written by a former Honda S2000 owner calling himself Calpilot7 from Houston, who moved into a much more practical Honda Civic Si Sedan. This illustrates the common occurrence of someone staying with the same automaker, but enjoying the move from a sports car to something less sporty.

"After four years I traded in my '03 S2000 for a brand new white '07 Civic Si Sedan. I liked my S2K but I am in love with my new Si Sedan. It’s easy to get in and out of. Has the VTEC rush without the NOISE. Great styling. When I first saw the dash I was a little put off, but man is it great to use. The upper display is like a HUD and you can easily see it without taking your attention from the road.

“If this car had another 40hp or so it would destroy the BMW 3 series. I actually like the look of the sedan much better than the coupe. The sedan looks more aggressive to me. The handling is superb, stereo’s great and the brakes are awesome, if a little over-boosted. I am amazed but I like my new Si sedan more than the S2K that I traded in. Great, great car, Honda. Thanks again."

My name is Liger and I just love my 06 Civic Si. I think the coupe looks quite a bit sportier than the sedan. The car handles great, and power really comes on around 6000 rpm.

the Si Sedan is a really cool car, I'm agree with Liger, I think the coupe look sportier than the sedan but I guess choose between this 2 models is very hard....

You wrote "Has the VTEC rush without the NOISE", I read some reviews and comments about the engine sound and says that this is amazing when you comes up 6krpms, what about it?

Why do you think the Civic Si doesn't destroy the BMW 3 Series?,

AG - I think he's comparing the noise to his previous S2000, which had an absurd amount of engine noise, and not a particularly nice exhaust note either.

Do you get the raw gasoline odor through the vents on restarts in your Civic???

I have never smelled raw gasoline odor on restarts in my civic si. I have noticed that the rear suspension can be somewhat noisy at times.
