Acura's Next Concept: A Sports Car

Acurasportscarconcept

Last month, Acura debuted one of the worst received concept cars in recent memory. They called the design the Acura Advanced Sedan Concept. For the company’s next act, at the Detroit show in January, they’ll unveil the Advanced Sports Car Concept shown above in a sketch. It doesn’t seem Acura invests a lot of time in the naming of its recent concepts but since the company has a habit of actually making some of them — the Honda Ridgeline and Acura RDX started life as hit concept cars — we keep a dutiful eye on what rolls out on the show floor. We’re just hoping this concept is a step up from the Advanced Sedan Concept.

Acura regrets killing off the RSX, huh?

J - they shouldn't, as the RSX really had no place in the new Honda/Acura world. In fact, it really never fit in as an Acura. Nor did the Integra, if that's what you're thinking. The Civic Si is just a better fit for everyone. Except for Acura dealers, of course.

my guess is this would be a step above or around the TL and below the RL in terms of price if it were ever built and be significantly larger than the RSX. Think G35 coupe competitor. The RSX never really fit into the lineup as well as the TSX does (which serves the same intro-customer) but held up for a long time until the Civic Si came along.

We'll know more closer to Detroit. it could just as easily be a RSX replacement but I somehow doubt it as the company says it wants to move upscale more.

Leroy - I agree with you that the RSX should never have been sold as Acura ever since the Integra's introduction to the U.S. But unfortunately, when Acura was introduced here, there was only the Legend + the Integra. They didn't(Or couldn't) bring anything other than those 2 over here yet. In my opinion, they should have made the Integra as a Honda in U.S. since day 1. And its death is just like the tC killed off the Celica.
