Mitsubishi Releases New Sketch of Next Lancer

2008lancersketch

The folks running the North American International Auto Show — aka the Detroit auto show — already told us Mitsubishi would unveil three models at this year’s show in early January. Yesterday, Mitsubishi released a new sketch of its most important model, sales-wise, to be shown: the Lancer sedan. The sketch closely follows the Evo X concept car that debuted last year, and word has it the high-performance Evo version of the Lancer — the most important model for sports-car fans — will also debut in Detroit along with one other mystery car. With its aggressive looks and larger size, we think this new Lancer will make us all but forget the econo-box currently sold under the same name.

Mitsubishi had better not mess up with this new Lancer, it might be one of their last chances to become profitable. I hope a reliable powertrain is an option that comes standard with every Mitsubishi.
