Ford Joins Holiday Sale Party
Following hot on the heels of GM’s Red Tag sale, Ford launched its own Year End Event sale that offers additional cash back, up to $1,000 on most of its 2007 and 2006 models through January 2. The cash back is on top of current incentives; on certain 2006 models, 0% financing for up to 60 months is also available.
We’ve updated our listings of incentives here to reflect the new sale. Not surprisingly the best deals are on the Ford F-150 and Ranger trucks and Freestar minivan.

How about Ford Motor Company giving me a check for $2,600 to cover the cost of my transmission? I will consider it an early Christmas gift. Considering it's the third transmission in my Ford Explorer and it's only 4,000 miles out of warranty I don't think I'm asking for too much. Wife and I bought a Honda minivan seven years ago and we sometimes wonder if Honda should just rename it, 'Bullet-proof'.
Never again will I purchase a Ford regardless of how attractive the price is. You get what you pay for ten times over. I look forward to seeing Ford loose MILLIONS more. They are reaping what they sowed.
If you are not interested in buying a ford product "regardless of how attractive the price is", then why are you even reading this post?
I don' know why the other people down Fords. i bought a 1994 Mercury Marquis in 2001. The car had 100,ooo miles on the odometer. After another 100,000 trouble free, well almost trouble free miles. it is still going strong. I only paid 2500.00 for the car. I can't complain a bit about my Ford product.
Not All Fords Are Unreliable Heaps, Just The Vast Majority. Their F Series And Cars Based Off The Crown Vic Platform, Such As Your Grand Marquie, Have A Good Track Record 4 Reliability.
I think everybody knows about Tommy's Marquis by now. He ws lucky to get a good example. I'm sure there are many Ford owners who did not. I've owned several different Ford models over the years and didn't have much luck with them. Yet, I had a friend with an old F-150 that he abused and neglected for over 300K and it kept right on running. "In general" it seems like "most" imports have a better reliability record, but not always. And "in general" it seems like "most" domestics have a worse reliability record, but not always. Statistics collected by organizations such as Consumer Reports bear this out. As they say, "Your results may vary."
Funny, My dad's 1990 F-150 is still running strong past 300,000 miles with only typical maintenance issues, nothing major. He's the original owner and just gave it to my brother....to buy a 2005 F-250.
My F-150 is still running like a champ as well. I'd put it against anything that comes from Japan, especially the baby Ridgeline.
Yes the American auto makers are behind the Japanese and they are starting to learn why. I can see your argument if they were still building cars like the Pinto, but give it a rest. They are building much better cars now.
Just keep throwing your money to Japan, Gary and keep your trash talk to yourself.
Geez, look at all of the blow-hards getting their panties into a knot just because someone states a pretty well known fact: Ford from 1996 - 2005 made tens of thousands of defective transmissions and put them in the Taurus and Explorer. I know because I'm a fleet manager for a Pharm. company and I have seen it all in the past fourteen years. Hands down the Japs build much better cars and trucks than Ford, GM or Chrysler.
