Volvo Prices All-New 2007 S80: Practical, Not Pricey

2007volvos80

Those guys in Sweden must have realized the all-new S80 would have to stand out to get full-size sedan shoppers back into Volvo showrooms. By pricing the base S80 — with a 235 horsepower 3.2-liter inline six-cylinder — at $38,705 they certainly got our attention. A 311 hp V-8 — a first for the flagship sedan — with standard all-wheel drive will top the S80 lineup at $47,305. Both models feature a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual mode and neither price includes a $695 destination charge.

Shoppers should compare the S80 to other European sedans like the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E Class as well as Japanese luxury sedans like the Acura RL and Infiniti M. The S80 bests every one of those in the price department for both powerplants.
