Ford Recalls 145,000 Vehicles, Including Escape Hybrid

Fordrecalls

Ford issued two recalls today according to the NHTSA. The big news for Ford owners out there is that 139,537 Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montego sedans from the 2005 model year, along with 2005 - 06 Ford Freestyle crossovers, are being recalled over faulty door latches that may leak, leading to the door latches freezing in cold weather possibly resulting in doors opening while moving.

In a separate recall, more than 6,000 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid SUVs are being recalled due to potential fracturing of the drivetrain, which could allow the vehicle to move when parked.

Owners should contact their local Ford dealer to schedule an inspection of the drivetrain; if it's faulty, it will be replaced. There's no word yet on how dealers will fix the larger door latch problem.

HEY another ford recall? go figure..

Sure, another Ford recall. But at least we don't try to hide things like honda did with the transmission problems on the civics and accords a few years back. And also nissan on about the brakes on the titan and armada just last year. Ford see a problem and tries to nip it in the bud.

ford customer service is a farce. they can't or more accurately won't help you ith a problem with a dealer. my ford ranger got the recall because of the cruise control problem ford has known about for over 10 yrs and just now recalling. i want to the closest dealer to me a round trip of 94 miles after making an appointment and being assured they have the part. I live in Howard ks and the closest ford dealer is in independence ks. when i got there they did not have the part. they didn't know when they would get it.... i went home called customer service and told them the story. got the typical run around...their service is a total farce ... don't buy ford product folks.

2004 3.0 six cylinder engine, Ford Escape XLS fewer then 25k miles with disappearing power steering fluid.

Like to know about it before I head for the
dealership.
