Audi A8 Recalled Over Airbags

2003audia8

Roughly 36,000 Audi A8 sedans from 2002 to 2004 are being recalled worldwide for faulty airbags that may not fully inflate. An internal check discovered the defect and no customers have reported problems. Owners will have the affected airbags replaced. The numbers may seem small because it involves such premium priced sedans, but this is a full-scale recall.

Anyone who buys an Audi is simply nuts. I had the distinct pleasure of owning two of their pre-production cars that they passed off as market ready. An A6 that had more electrical problems than a decade worth of Chevy Blazers. The dealer actually suggested that I 'upgrade' to the A8 when they couldn't figure out the source of the never ending A6 electrical bugs. My second and last Audi was the TT. That made the A-6 seam like a Honda. For the time being I'll stick with my Lexus...5 years this winter, 81,000 miles, ZERO problems.

I've never heard of an automaker selling pre-production models before and can't think of how a dealer would come by one.

How about German manufacturers invest some of their money into making seamless electric interfaces, and actually making their cars respectable? Sure, Audis, BMWs, and MBs look great, but they suck 2 years down the road. I thought the point of a luxury German sedan was to make customers happy using reliable and elegant technology and design!

You don't neccessarily have to have problems with audi's. i own one and have had it for years. zero problems so far. if you just take care of your car, it'll treat you nicely. Don't consider the purchase of an Audi based on reviews only, rather, test drive a few and get opinions from both dealers and users.

its that hassle of taking care of it, however, that has people criticising it. it's too much of a hassle for an average driver to take care of. for a car enthusiast, however, it is great. a bit porky, though. *my opinion*

They should have recalled all audi airbags as far as Im concerned I had to buy 3 a4 airbag sets from http://www.safetyairbags.com/audi-airbags.html and I still spent over 400.00 dollars.
