2007 Civic Si Sedan: Performance with Four Doors
Last year, the Civic Si coupe revitalized the high-performance category for Honda. It did so well that Honda is doing it again with the Si sedan. This is the first time the heralded Si designation has been applied to a four-door.
The 2007 Si sedan gets the exact same treatment as the 2006 Si coupe. There’s the same 197-hp four-cylinder engine, six-speed manual transmission, traction control and stability assist, 17-inch alloy wheels, and an Si-specific interior with bolstered seats and red stitching.
What’s unique about the sedan is that it weighs only 60 pounds more than the coupe. Prices should be on par with the Si coupe’s $20,290. It goes on sale Nov. 1.

This past Saturday I was lucky enough to get a chance to drive the Civic Si sedan. A dealer about 20 minutes from me was holding an invite only event and my girlfriend received one of the invitations. They had this car for demo rides along with show casing two F1 cars. Since the car was a stick I drove it while my girlfriend played navagator. All I will say is WOW! It's amazing how Honda can just churn out cars like this time and time again. I loved everything about the car except two things: 1. I could never get used to that funny speedo, 2. The rear wing looks like a after thought. Would that prevent me from buying the car (if I was looking) NO! That sweet engine and silkly smooth trans is something I could live with forever. Although I only had her for less than twenty minutes, I can ensure you that I ran the car through it's paces and it didn't disappoint one bit (I drive a 2003 Maxima SE 5spd). Honda must be doing something right as out of the 9 people that got a chance to drive the car, I know four of them put down deposits for purchases.
2007 si 4 door , is off the hook
i am getting this car very soon , perfectoooo car
I can't wait for it to come out. This car looks MUY CALIENTE!!!!!
I think this will be a great success for Honda. I used to own a 2002 Civic Si (sold it to get a Corvette), and will own this 2007 sedan.
I saw one today at the dealer today and the only thing holding me back is the insurance payment of $730 every 6 months. For the same coverage I pay $235 for my older Civic. Still a very sweet compromise between performance, practicality and decent economy.
Yeah. I bought my 2007 Civic Si Sedan about a week ago, and yes it's that good! The car is simply amazing. It's completely smooth, driving is effortless, and that K20Z3 engine RULES! My previous car was a 2000 Civic Si Coupe, and I'd been dreaming about the Si Sedan since I heard about the Concept model last year. The wife knew I wanted it like crazy, so she forced me to get it! (Wasn't really twisting my arm, or anything...) Thanks, honey! Adding two more doors, and stiffening up the car like they did makes a WORLD of difference. Adding front and rear sway bars virtually eliminates body roll. The entire fit and finish of the entire car is leaps and bounds above the previous car (even though I loved my other one too!) But yeah, I can't say anything negative about the car. It's fantastic.
I was honored to drive the new 07' SI Sedan. Also very proud to be an owner. I love it.
I just bought mine over the weekend, I bought it for my wife because she loves the new civic, but I'm not sure if she'll ever get to drive it. It's completely amazing. I had a 1990 CRX SI and while I know the technology is way different the new car is hands down the winner. I wish Honda would have made this car years ago. I may need to buy another one so the wife can drive it.
The si is no joke if only dodge did not come out with its caliber srt4.
Unfortunately the Caliber is freakin ugly. It takes a LOT of performance to overcome ugly. Wait for the Challenger to come out if you want mopar performance.
amen to that. the dodge caliber has everything bad about the ram, and everything bad about the neon, and nothing good. but this is a civic blog so lets get to the civics. im glad that honda has made an si sedan, but the compromises in weight are considerable. give it another ten, maybe 20 horsepower, worth the extra 500-1000 bucks, and honda will have a winner. heck, maybe they'll go for $300,000 at Barrett-Jackson in 2050. What? a guy can dream, can't he?
Just Bought the car yesterday. Amazing! Im only 16 and having this cars a dream. I recommend it.
I bought this car yesterday. I had to get rid of my 1996 Prelude Si. This car is absolute thrill to drive. You can beat the performance and styling for the price. I've only had it 2 days I've had at least 10 people say the car is anything less than impressive.
I just bought this car last night. Driving it is a dream. I have been driving a 1998 prelude, and while the 'lude is faster, the si is much more fun to drive. There is no comparison for performance in its price range. Sure you can get faster cars with similar size (see wrx and evo) but you sacrifice a large amount of comfort for that.
I SELL THESE VEHICLES AND I HAD A 2003 HONDA ACCORD COUPE IN THE V6......I LANDED UP TRADING IT IN ON THE BLUE FOUR DOOR SI!!!!! WHAT A FUN CAR....I AM SOOOOO HAPPY AND YES I OF ALL PEOPLE KNOW THAT HONDAS'S ARE GREAT!!!! THEY SELL THEMSELVES!!!
i had this car a month. theres 1 problem!!! wheres all the aftermarket parts?? lol im waitin 2 supe diz beast up!!
I test drove an Si sedan last week, they gave it to me for an overnight test drive, that was definitely the selling point for me, this car is sweet, handles great and best of all my 6mnth old's child seat fits in theack. I don't have to sacrifice performance for practicality. The dealer called me again today lowering the price again, he really wants to get me into this car, I'm giving myself one more month max and I'm going for it.
Brian, the sedan weighs 55 lbs more than the coupe. Hardly a "considerable" difference in weight and more like the difference between a half a tank of gas, the weight of the driver........or how much junk you keep in the trunk.
I bought a 2007 four door Civic Si and it simply ROCKS! Took it on a 300 mile trip this weekend and got 33mpg at above average freeway cruising speeds. I've been averaging 25mpg around town and that's putting my foot in it occasionally, which is SO fun because when it hits that sweet spot at about 6500RPM, stand by. I would recommend this to anyone. GREAT compromise between power, performance and economy - it simply can NOT be beat! A BLAST to drive. Buy one NOW, if not immediately sooner! :-)
Just got the word from the wife that i can get one. Now it's coupe or sedan. I have had the 91 si, 94 ex coupe, 97 ex coupe, 98 ex coupe, 2002 ex sedan, and now i have a Acura TXS (wife's). She wanted me to get a truck! I fought it a now i was told i was clear to get my car. Only problem, i get home next month from the mideast and i have not driven one. Is it that good.
Tony,
If you're that big a Honda fan, than yes it is the ultimate Honda Civic. I thought the Sedan was an interesting package because of all the practicality still there. The coupe is just much, much better looking.
Dave,
Thanks for the feedback. Also how is the sound system? My brother says to get the Mazdaspeed3. He said same price better car. Did anyone drive both before getting the civic?
Tony,
We've tested all of the cheap speed cars extensively. The Mazdaspeed3 is REALLY fast and won a recent faceoff we had.
Check out out comparison here:

But if you like Hondas I would never hold it against you for getting the Si over the Mazdaspeed3. Test drive both, you have a legitimate reason to ask for one.
I've had my 2007 Civic Si sedan for about 10 days now and I could not be happier! ITS A GREAT CAR, period. I honestly cannot say anything bad about it. I traded up from my 2002 Civic Si hatchback and this car does everything better. It has better pick up, better top end, smoother, more efficient engine and best of all it had 4 doors! The stereo sounds awesome and the ipod jack works great! I LOVE THIS CAR!!
I just got the 07 Si sedan about 4 days ago.. I absolutley love it. At 6500 the second phase of the V-TEC kicks in and its amazing. Its a great package for the price and the handling is awesome. Its a really fun car to drive. My paretns told me I had to sell my SRT-4 about a month ago due to not obeying speed signs so when i got the Si i though it was going to be a boring car. As my first Honda i am very impressed to see that the car is great. It may not be boosted but its still quick.
while honda definitely has reliability in its corner, isn't a mazdaspeed 3 or wrx or even vw gti faster? yea, civic is cheaper... but when you consider the difference is only about 3k tops, and the other cars have turbo and awd in the case of the wrx... do u get the most for your money with the si?
its not the power that wins us over, ken. it's the fact that it's just so damn fun to drive! anything you do in this car, even backing out of a parking spot is an adventure. test drive one today.
just picked up the car today, all i can say is sweet. i have a 98 integra type r which i love to death for all the reasons u will know if you know anything about the r, but the si sedan is the best of both worlds. it's more comfortable, almost as quick, and much less risky to take around and park. the engine and transmission are the best i've ever driven and my wife had an s2000. if you dive this car and aren't impressed you need to take public transportation.
I test drove the sedan and was really impressed with the handling of a 4 door, but the 2 door coupe sold me. I think it just looks more meaner. This is my 3rd civic s.i and by far this is the best civic ever made. The k20 series motor is such a beast. "keep up the good work HONDA". I'll be a customer for life!!!
I traded in a 2003 Saab 2.0 small turbo for the 2008 Honda Si. This Honda is just as nice, or even nicer than the Saab 9-3. A may I mention, less headaches.
