Ford to Introduce Capless Fuel Filler in 2008

Gascap

The Ford GT supercar debuted in 2005 with a lot of notice paid to its performance and looks. But the $150,000 sports car also features a capless fuel filler that Ford says it will expand to its entire lineup, starting with the new 2008 Lincoln MKS full-size sedan. The set-up will help forgetful folks who don’t replace their cap when filling up. Ford says the system will also prevent gas fumes from escaping, although most of today’s gas caps, when closed correctly, do as well. But it sure seems about time someone advanced the gas cap.
