2007 GMC Sierra Revealed, Too
To save time — yours and ours — we won’t repeat much of the information we just posted about the all-new Chevy Silverado that also pertains to the GMC Sierra. For those out there who don’t know, they are virtually the same vehicles, minus exterior design, wheels, interior touches, etc. Even most of the powertrains are shared between the two, though the Sierra also gets a Denali edition with GM’s monster 6.2-liter V-8 pumping out 400 hp.
We couldn’t cram every new piece of information into the Silverado blog post about both of these all-new vehicles. For example, the Sierra and Silverado have five different suspension systems to accommodate those who want a comfortable ride or need the maximum towing possible. There’s even a suspension set-up for street performance.
There are also new safety features, like roof-mounted side curtain airbags, seat belt pretensioners and an electronic stability system, all of which are standard on Crew Cab models and available on extended cab models. Antilock brakes are standard on all models, as is a tire pressure monitoring system.
Prices should stay close to the current $15,840 – $38,775 range.

Ordered one last week. Tested it against Dodge, Ford, Nissan. GMC won over the Nissan by small margin. The Sierra styling is much nicer than the Silverado, in my opinion

The local dealer just got one this past weekend 4/1/07. It looks awesome. Does anyone know if the L92 6.2 engine will be offered in Flex Fuel? When?

I've ordered my Denali about 2 weeks ago... can't wait for it to come in!
As a GM engineer (and buyer), it's good to hear the positive and constructive reviews.
To my knowledge, the L92 has no plans of becoming a flex fuel engine, nor will it have displacement-on-demand. Reason being... this truck should satisfy the "SS" crowd. Check out this link on some performance specs...

I have recently purchased the new 07 sierra denali and i really enjoy the truck. The truck is nicely equipped with a similar interior of a cadilac escalade and shares the same motor in it which is a 6.2 liter 403hp+417 pounds of touque. It goes 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and it is the only half ton pickup on the market that has this motor.I recieve alot of complements on the this vehicle, every where i go.It is a definte head-turner...the gas milage isnt so friendly, but if you want a truck that has class and power all rolled up in one. This is it please dont settle for less....p.s. if you get one you wont regret it and enjoy!!!

Fuel consumption is absolutely terrible. Best I can do with the 5.3 and the fuel management system is 16 MPG on the highway and about 10 in town

In Australia we dont have any large pick ups we only have utes which are a car in ute form so u should be happy to have large trucks at all, im sure many persons here would like a sierra, we dont even get F1/F250's anymore

I have had my 2007 GMC Sierra Crew. Loaded exept for the nav system but everything else. I love it I get all the looks and love the ride had a 05 Sierra. The ride in the 07 is just the best and all the great features, have great power to the 5.3 gets up and goes. Got 17-20 MPG on the highway and 15 in town.

I've got an '07 SLE extended cab with the 5.3 and I'm sitting around 17-18mpg if I drive the way I usually drive, but if I can keep my foot out of it and keep the RPM's around 2000 on acceleration I am sitting around 20mpg on average. I've got a Tornado Fuel Saver on mine and its made a noticeable difference. I just ordered a K&N cold air kit and I'm hoping to see more improvement from that. I love it. Strong, Fast, Stylish and Functional. Just what a modern truck is supposed to be.
