2007 Corvette Z06 Gets New Color, Higher Price

2007z06

We knew it was too good to last. When it debuted in 2006, the Corvette Z06 started at $65,690. That meant a better-than-average Joe could afford 505 hp. Now the starting price is right at $70,000 and — get this — GM hasn’t added anything to the car. Nope, nothing new to warrant the $4,310 price adjustment.

Wait, what’s this? The glove compartment is larger this year in all Corvettes, including the Z06? OK, that’s well worth a grand or two, but four? We do get a new color though, Atomic Orange Metallic Tintcoat, shown here. That is pretty nice.

In all seriousness, we’re just ribbing GM. The Z06 is still one of the fiercest performance vehicles for the money that you can buy. They could probably ask $80,000 and sell every single Z06 they make. But let’s not give them any more big ideas.

Can't belive they raised the price, I guess all these videos of the z06 destroying other cars got the car very popular.

I've wanted a 427 Corvette since 1967. Now is my chance. I ordered a victory red Z06. Since my son has an STI I needed a personal car that's faster. This car is a beast - bet it's faster than a 427 Cobra!

Your info is very misleading, Mr. Thomas. Since when can a ZO6 be bought for sticker price? It doesn't really matter what the sticker price is. I've shopped for a Z06 and find that they sell for $20 grand more than the sticker price. No, I haven't bought one yet, but definitely plan to. Still more "bang for the buck" than anything else on the road.

I rode in one and believe that Chevy finally got their engineers out of Starbuck's and got some work out of them. U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E!

That's saying a bunch from me, because I am one of those people who was a die-hard GM fan for years but who got burned on multiple cars because of crap engineering. I have bought several new cars and, among them was a 1980 Olds 88 diesel. That car cost 60% of its value for one year of use and I was lucky to get rid of it then. Then I bought a 1983 Cadillac and it was the "gutless wonder" with 265 cu/in and the camshaft was flat in three years. Also had a camshaft go flat on my 1981 Blazer. We also bought a new Olds Alero and had to replace several parts right away. Got lucky because we had fuel injector failure at 35,800 miles with only 200 miles of warranty left. That would have been most of $2000 to repair. Traded it on a 2003 Toyota Sienna long before I would have. Couldn't take the chance. And, oh those Delco parts! Positive battery terminal falls out at one year on every one of them. List too long for this blog.

Glad to see GM get it together with the C6.

And to Gary G. and others: Who are you BS'ing?
A Ford GT is almost double the Corvette Z06 price.

My C6 will still be my only Chevy since I have discovered Toyota for daily use. Had multiple used ones, bought a new Avalon in 1996. Traded it on a new Tundra in 2005. Avalon had 214,000 flawless miles. Total maintenance costs less than $500. Spark plugs once, timing belt once, axles once. Had alignment checked about every 40,000 miles. Never once out of spec. And that V-6 thought is was a V-8. I got 30 mpg on trips. Other drivers got a little less.

Also bought a new 2003 Sienna. Just checked alignment at 84,000 miles. Perfect! Put Michelins on it at 17,000 miles. Still running on them. Will need new ones soon, but 67,000 miles so far. Also flawless in every other respect.

Hard for me to consider GM cars any more, so you gotta know that I really like the C6 to be that positive about it.

With prices of raw materials up would folks rather they skimp and use parts of less quality? If price increases mean better parts, more functionality or preserving whats still the best buy in the world I am for it.

MY CHRISTMAS GIFT-LIST FROM "SANTA CLAUS" IS DEFINITELY, POSITIVELY, A 2007 CORVETTE Z-06. ON ONE OF THE DOCUMENTARY CHANNELS, THE Z-06 WAS ESTIMATED AT TOP SPEED OF 185MPH!! (JUST A LITTLE FASTER THAN IS ALLOWED IN MY HOME-TOWN OF BRADY, TEXAS!!(JUST KIDDING, OF COURSE!)THE 'VETTE WAS REPORTED TO BE CAPABLE OF 0-60MPH IN ABOUT 3.5 SECS! ALSO, IT'S CAPABLE OF 29MPG IN 6TH GEAR WITH CRUISE-CONTROL ON!! COMPARED TO THE DODGE VIPER OR MUSTANG GT-500, THE CORVETTE RUNS CIRCLES AROUND THOSE 2 & IS FOR SURE, JUST ABOUT THE BEST PERFORMING SPORTS CAR IN ITS CLASS!!

ACTUALLY, I'M NOT INTO SANTA CLAUS ANYMORE, OF COURSE...NOT SINCE I WAS ABOUT 4 YRS-OLD, HOWEVER, I RECENTLY DISCOVERED A SURE-FIRE WAY TO DEPEND UPON A HIGHER AUTHORITY, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST & THE BOOK OF MALACHI WHICH STATES: GIVE YOUR LOVE-OFFERING TO ME(THE TRUE CHURCH OF LORD JESUS CHRIST) & JESUS(GOD) WILL POUR OUT UNTO MY COFFER, PRESSED DOWN, SHAKEN TOGETHER, RUNNING OVER, WILL GOD GIVE UNTO ME!!!. SO,THEREFORE, I INTEND TO PAY MY TITHE(10% OF GROSS INCOME, PLUS A LOVE-OFFERING OVER & ABOVE THE TITHE, TO PROVE GOD FOR GRANTING MY HEART'S DESIRE!: A NEW Z-06!! AMEN, IT IS SO!!

You are so right...Nothing like having the car right in your face on a showroom to make anyone drool...I was doing just that not an hour ago with a Retired US Navy Chief, the local Corvette specialist; at a medium sized store here in Indy (Blossom Chevrolet). Get this...a buyer ordered his dream car some 18 or so months ago, gets impatient while waiting for his hand-built 427 and buys an in-stock Z-51 coupe instead...Now all of a sudden they have a Victory Red Z06 in 2LZ trim with HUD and NAV...WOW!! As to pricing, they're a little more saner than many at only $10k over the $79,000 sticker. They just put it on the showroom...I only hope that I can sell my Jensen in time...Cheers.

They can be had at sticker. Just picked up an Atomic Orange one at sticker...can be done.

I have owned corvettes for years and still have a tricked out C-5 coupe. But I just got a 2007 Z06 and let me tell you, You cannot put a price on this machine. It is a Beast and the most beautiful car out.

I have a 2007 Z06 it is my 12th corvette, starting with a 1965 coupe. This Z06 is the best and fastest. I have yet to be looking at any tailights, including the two wheel HDs. I strongly suggest that all muscle car owners buy one of these 427s. You will be thrilled. Frank

I just picked up a Victory Red 2007 Z06 for sticker... so it can be done! BUT, the 2007 allotment is almost finished and they will shut down the production line in July. I think the closer to this date, the more likely dealers will sell for sticker cuz they will get more to sell for next year, which is going to be the same car, with a 3% mark up.

CORVETTE IS WORLD FASTEST GO 1400 HP I HAVE CORVETTE WITH 1400 HP AND 1250 TQ 0-100 MPH 3.5 SEC I SWEAR TO GOD 0-FULL SPEEDOMETER (200 MPH) IN JUST 11.234 SECONDS TOP SPEED 387 MPH RADOR SAID.....................................

ZO6 HAD 983 MILES, I SELL FOR 30,000 DOLLAR CALL ME 955-9342 I WILL CRASH MY CAR FOR MAY/30/2009.
