BMW X5 Pricing Announced

X51_1

Last week BMW unveiled its all-new X5 SUV. Today we learn what the price of entry will be for the luxury hauler. The base X5 3.0si will start at $45,900. That’s an increase of $3,400 from the outgoing 2006 base model. The more-powerful X5 4.8i will start at $54,500, up from the $53,600 of the outgoing 4.4i model. There is also a $695 destination and handling fee for all models.

The increases are minimal by industry standards, as both models receive significant boosts in the power department and come loaded with new features, including a fold-flat third row. For more pictures of the all-new X5 and a breakdown of some of the other features, see our earlier post. The 2007 X5 goes on sale this November.

Interest that while the Japanese, Koreans and American name plates are lowering price while adding extras, BMW is doing the opposite. I'm not a car guy by any stretch of the imagination, but after having lived with one BMW (2001 X5) I'll never go back. The positive is if it were not for my BMW 'experience', I would have never have found Acura.

Increasing the cost of their already expensive cars...cus, ya know, that makes total sense...riiiiight...
