Midsize Hybrid Faceoff

Hybridfaceoff

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out gas prices are high, but the three hybrids in our new faceoff might make you feel a bit geeky. Mike Hanley and Joe Wiesenfelder compare three of today’s hottest green machines: the 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid, the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid and the veteran of the group, the 2006 Toyota Prius.

The team holds each vehicle up to a number of different requirements, from ride and handling to EPA air pollution and greenhouse gas scores. We won’t reveal the winner here, you’ll just have to go to the comparison yourself to find out which vehicle won.

I'd be interested in a follow-up. With gas prices having gone down since this story, and October sales figures showing a fairly significant rise in truck and SUV sales, has some of the luster come off the sales numbers of the hybrids?

Anyone see any numbers?
