New Subcompact Comparison
Thinking about a small car now that you’re staring at high gas prices on a regular basis? Joe Wiesenfelder and Mike Hanley break down three of today’s top subcompact offerings in a new comparison on the main Cars.com site.
We won’t spoil the surprise of which of the three — Honda Fit, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Yaris — wins, but we can tell you there are plenty of videos, images and insight to help you narrow your search.

If the Smart Car already gets 60 mpg in Europe, why does the EPA have to "tinker" with the emissions so that it only gets 40 mpg in the US? If they were serious about reducing carbons, we should have already had the cars that all of the car makers have been making for the 'other' car markets. If we were to be allowed to have those cars that get up to 70 mpg then wouldn't the gas industry just raise the gas price so that they still will be getting their millions? I think all of these 'ifs' can be answered by one word. "GREED"

Would someone please tell the idiots at Toyota that there are plenty of people who want to price a car with ALL the available options and not just the ones they think most people want. Is this so hard? I tried to price a Yaris with 5-speed manual in the S trim, but there site won't allow it. The brochure clearing shows this is a viable option. I didn't bother with the Corolla a few years for the same reason; I could not configure the car the way I wanted and I did not want to spend a few hours at a dealership listening to their BS.
Wake up, Toyota and fix your website!
